Borewell - Please help Urgent

Post by sam_m400 »

I have got water at 287 feet but dug till 480 feet to see any other water source in vain. Now my question is should i see with camera whether water is available as my neighbor is saying since you have dug more, water may drip down and chance that it may drain away. He is saying to block at 287 feet by putting cement ceiling so that water won;t go down and drain away. Please do help as this is urgent.... as i need to give order to borewell motor so that i know exactly how much depth need to order....

Do not listen to Tom, Dick & Harrys, who always pretend they are the only experts on this earth and put worms in your mind.
Just follow whatever your Borewell driller says or the geologist prescribed and be peaceful.

Water will not drain out like what your neighbour claims. If there is no more water presence inspite of deep drilling, least case, your
presently available water percolates there and can recharge the next level (similar to Rain Water harvesting), which is more beneficial
in terms of recharging the ground level water during rainy season.

i did last year so price may have changed large as i gave 63 Rs til 250 feet as presently it is starting at 75 rs. I went with water diviner not with geologist, and went with Surekha borewells . I stored hin number in my old mobile which is not working now, will try to get it. I was one srinivasan who is in the forum itself came in paper as well who does this well.

Called Mr. M.V.Srinivas for Borewell point fixing. You can read an old article that appeared in "The Hindu" about him here:

I did my borewell motor implemented and got water . Thanks for the inputs from all and it really helped .As stated by neighbor there is nothing like draining of water and water was fully there . Thanks to this forum as it really a wonderful platform really helping everybody.

Two more doubts please do help.

1) He is saying there is silt for 10 feet so need to put motor 1 hour for a week so that he can insert pipe into that. Is this true as he saying it normally happens?

2) Mine total depth is coming 20 feet less than actual depth ,and he is saying it is because borewell dug pipe is 1 or 2 feet less than 20 feet where we used to measure while giving pipe. So pump guy is charging 2000 Rs extra as he is need to cut the pipe and attach the ejection pipe at the end. Is this charge is normal??

1) Normally you need to switch ON borewell motor on regular basis after installation. If it is new borewell, already some stored water will be present in bore well that may contain some impurities (would have come during drilling) need to be cleared.

2) It is well known, dug pipe are not 20ft , actual it is 18ft and 6to8inch.

3) I hope you would have left some gap between motor and last point of borewell depth. Normally 20-30ft is left for motor installation.

i have dug 480 feet ,and ordered for 460 feet pipe. Now 10 feet silt+ 20 feet (24 pipes each 20 feet stated by borewell guy with almost 1.5 feet less) is coming as less for me .Now my sump guy that 10 feet we need to remove the silt and then dig the motor again to see how much depth it will go out of my total 460 feet. I am putting motor everyday 1 hours to remove the silt ,and he asked to do the same for another 1 week so that all the silt will go..... Is the charge 2000 Rs is normal for changing the end pipe which is now connected at 460 feet, and need to be changed to what every depth it will go after removing the silt..

Re: Borewell Registration Query

Post by prasannabhat »

I have dig borewell for 480 ft and installed submersible motor. My contractor is telling me that borewell registration process involves giving affidavit on Rs. 20 stamp paper, but iam not sure whether this is applicable for BDA sites. Pls let me know regarding this.
