Hi,

underground sump at my site is at the verge of completion and I am trying to decide if I have to lay ceramic tiles inside sump, all 5 sides. I checked the ceramic tiles of different brands (Orient, Vision etc, also Kajaria tiles), for around 250 sqft (approx 9K Liter sump) I would need 28 boxes of tiles.

However, I don't know what are the advantages of laying tiles, cant think of anything apart from good looks :? and may be easy maintenance.

Any suggestions please?

I think it will help in cleaning. Why don't you ask for odd and old designs. There might some couple of old design leftover in shop and shopkeeper also want dispose them. Check for those kind of deals, it will be gain for both.

I will try that way...My architect suggested plaster sump walls with Lime, there is a separate type of lime that is available in the market to apply on the inner walls of the sump after final plastering which kills all germs etc etc inside sump. Will explore and share more details about it.
