Hello friends
I am considering buying a 35*35 site (1225 sq.ft.) with an old house built on it.Its a G+1 with an internal staircase
I intend to build another floor or two and have an external staircase leading up to each floor and I wanna shut off the internal staircase. Can this be done?
Now the problem is that the previous owner of the house has not left any setback whatsoever on any side.
Will this be a problem if I apply for a new plan? Will I be asked to correct these violations first?
What are the things I need to consider before getting into this deal?
I would be grateful if someone could guide me through this as I have no idea about how strong the foundation is etc.
Thanking you all in anticipation.

Re: Modifying an old house
Hi,
For modifying the existing plan you need to apply to BBMP. Regarding violation you need to check with the old sanction plan.In case the building is old and constructed before BBMP then you need not to worry much.Since in panchayath time there are no clear byelaws for it.
