One of my friends uncle constructing house in HSR and I visited yesterday to get some experience before I start my construction work. He was very specific about using "Harihara" sand and for big 12 tyred truck load he had to pay 80K !!!!
I was shocked, however sand looks very nice, no stones or dirt. I think Qty was around 900 cft.
Where are we heading!!!

Nothing surprise. The quantity is almost double to the regular Lorry Load.
Also the Quality is good and value for money. Even one of my friend who
built his house in D Group Layout near Nagarabhavi BDA Complex also used
the sand from Harihara.
Moreover Harihara to Bangalore is not a small distance compared to the filter
sand which comes from Kanakapura/Ramanagara/Kolar & perhaps those people
have to bribe at each & every checkpost or the Police who stops them on their way.
Still its value for money compared to the Filter Sand used everywhere.

I got first load of sand today morning. Its from Hole Narasipura as thta guy claims. My contractor claims that it is from Sakaleshpur side. As Holenarasipura sand more white in color and small grains.
I had to pay 28K for approx around 490 CFT. He was asking for 1.5 extra for driver bata, checkpost charges all that, as if I will give it to him
According to my contractor sand that comes from Tamil Nadu would be better, so next time!

Hi,
Sorry to say, you have over paid them i.e nearly 15k.
Tiruchi sand and Harihara sand is same in terms of granular size, but just the color varies.
Color has nothing to do with the quality of sand.
Both have very less wastage as far as plastering sand is concerned.
But why?? 80k, without a strike or bandh.
For any doubts kindly feel free to contact
Thank you regards
Moorthy

pls be double sure about ,the sand ,I see lot of people mixing different type of sand and selling to the common man,it is really difficult to find the difference, you build a house only once in a life time so be double sure ,take your time and check and but your sand ,Trichy sand and harihar sand are river sand ,but some tugs mix it with filter sand in some ratio and redue the cost on average end use thinks he has got it very cheap ,but pays the price when the building starts to crack, we have been dealing with river sand to distributors in huge quantity in 10 wheelers(approx 5.5 -6 units per load) , but even i get bamboosed at how clients are cheated
consult structural ENGG's for clarification
1cft approx 35-40kgs
1 unit approx 100cft
do your own calculations
