Hi all

White color reflects heat and light. I have painted the roof of my parental house where I live, with white colored cement paint / white exterior base paint, for the past 5 years. This has reduced the internal heat drastically. However, the paint washes off within a couple of years. I have painted my roof white thrice in the last five years. See photo below.



Now, I want to make the roof of my house under construction permanently white. Is there any way to do this during roof plastering work ? It is urgent as the roof plastering work will be taken up in a couple of days.

I didn't get any suggestions to my query on white roof. My roof plastering is going to take place in a couple of days. My engineer is asking me to decide fast on the white roof. Even he doesn't have any idea how to make the roof permanently white. I suggested adding white cement during final finishing of the roof plaster. But he says it will create cracks on the roof. Can you provide some info Sri.Praveen ?
