Indian-western commode

Post by Chandu »

Hi All,
Am planning to buy an Indian commode and an western commode (floor mounted)
I see that there are different models listed
Thrift , Asian , Pan 580 , Orissa ( IWC)
One piece,two piece coset (WC)

Wanted to know what is the difference in these models ?
Or what are the points that I should consider while buying these

Which brand is the best - have heard about parryware,Hindware.

Hi Chandru,

In Indian commode there are 2 varieties one for Ground floor and one for upper floors can be 1st or 2nd floor.
if the Sunken provision is made in top floors then you can also leverage Ground Floor ones for top floors.
Technically difference is deep in size for ground level and flat in size for upper floor.
If there is no Sunken then only flat ones fits in for upper floors.

In terms of variations not much diffefence you get except foot rest point they do some designs like acupunture basin etc

Hindware or CERA are good brands to go for.

Western commode you get WC which is wallmounting one which comes in single piece
Western Floor mounting one you get in 2 pieces. one the entire basin and another the flush tank sits on the back

CERA you get good quality brands for western wall mounting ones. In case you wanna see samples you can visit Hemadri Ceramics in Hosur Road near bommanahalli junction left side near to Adishwar showroom. Then search for dealers and place orders. Typically you will get 25-30% discount on MRP with bill.

Hope this helps.
