My plumber is suggesting to use CPVC pipes for all the plumbing working. Was just curious, why not use PVC for at least the cold water and drain pipes. Could someone please share more information on why to use CPVC instead of PVC?

CPVC has better strength than PVC, go with CPVC.

Cpvc is used for hot water applications, when compare to gi pipes its corusion free and cost is less that gi pipes.
For bathroom solar water heater is mandatory for getting power connection so cpvc pipes have picked up its share.
For drainage definitely use PVC pipes.
Go for ashirvad or astral cpvc for water line and supreme pvc for drainage.
