tiles for external steps

What is the best option I can use for external steps and the balcony areas (In fronath of the main door. Terracotta/tandur/ceramic?
for approx 70 steps each 3ft and 200 sft balcony area

Looking for anti skid/rain resist/value for money etc standard applicable feature for external.
Appreciate if someone can give advice.

Hi sreenath,
External steps flooring should be a maintainable easily.
Vitrified problem is the joint and nosing can be done, so you see sharp edge at the step end.
Granite will be a best option ,in this we can do nosing, grip groove at the end for friction etc...
Tandur stone we can make grip grooves ,nosing is not possible since the stone chips off easily.we can try even kadapa stone for stair.
If budget permits granite will be the best option,or you get tiles specially meant for stairs it will come with friction groove and nosing .

My suggestion: Go for natural materials as much as possible. People put those cement/concrete blocks/slaps for the courtyard & balcony. But, i would prefer to go for naturnal stones like what is mentioned by Praveen.

did you finally decide on the staircase steps flooring? if so, can you please share on what you finally did?
