Hi
I am in confusion whether to opt for Modular or to be done with my carpenter.
Some suggesting to go for modular as it will last for 15 years and will be with great precison. But doing with carpenter it won;t have nice finish but less expensive. I was thinking to go with my carpenter and buying kitply with good laminations/with hettish hinges /fittings. Not sure still carpenter will be able to do with same finish.
Regards
Sam

I have always felt buying wood on your own and going with carpenter is of best quality, as you know the materials that go into the kitchen. The finish is questionable and depends highly on the carpenter.
May be you can get all boxes made by the carpenter using the wood of your choice, and get only the shutters from a readymade supplier so the finish looks good.

In my project - Plastering work is going on.
Wanted to know what is advantage/disadvantage of putting kitchen slab first and then getting cabinets ready later ( after few years)
or should get base cabinates ready first and then place a slab.
I am still contemplating to go with a carpenter for this work - please suggest

I think if you are going with the readymade modular kitchen cabinets, they come in standard size, and hence the slab has to be placed on top of those.
If you are going with carpenter, it is ok to fix the slab to any height convenient to you and then get the cabinets custom made from a carpenter to fit them.

The Advantage I am seeing here
1) I can make cabinetes - by carpenter - after 2 or 3 year ie when financial status stabilize.
2) ready made cabinets are clostly
The disadvantage I see is
1) Slab support wall will eat some space, or I have to demolish that support wall when I do cabinet work.
Is my understanding right , correct me if I am wrong here.
