What is the recommended plinth level from the ground level including SSM, plinth beam and DPC?

As I understand, standard for plinth beam is 1'6" high and DPC (dampness proof course) is 3" high. So that makes it 1'9". So what is the recommended SSM above the ground level?

I think these are covered in National Building Code Chap 4 which is available for free download on the net. You could also consult NOIDA's building regulations. I think it is one of the better documents available from gov agencies though not all of the points will be applicable to us residing in KA, but a good read, nevertheless.
