Hi,
I would like to know if the entire water pipe network can be routed outside the walls. The following are the advantages, I foresee:
1. Pipes are all routed outside, and only where a tap is required the tap breaks the wall and comes inside the bathroom / kitchen
2. Moving forward any leakages in the pipes can be handled easily without/minimal breaks in the wall.
I would like to know if there are any technical problems in this regard.

Running the water lines exposed on the walls is not at all a problem,most case we do the same
1. Pipes are all routed outside, and only where a tap is required the tap breaks the wall and comes inside the bathroom / kitchen
To do this all your toilet wet walls should be exterior walls,this is can be achieved in very rare cases.In most of the home planning configurations toilet wet walls will be internal.
2. Moving forward any leakages in the pipes can be handled easily without/minimal breaks in the wall.
In major cases leaks happen in the concealed pipes only,to avoid these leaks pressure test must be done before the pipes are concealed in the wall,This test is check any leaks in the joints.This test is must and insist the plumber to carry it in front of you and check it for 300psi min.Any modern shower panel.showers,concealed divertors.

in this case, you need to go for high quality pipes, which can withstand extreme weather conditions for longer period.
The disadvantage of passing water pipes outside the wall is, the pipes are exposed to the harsh weather conditions i.e. from winter chilly weather to summer hot temperature. Hence over a period of time, the pipe gets brittle and break away even for a small pressure upon it. (I experienced this condition in my house for the plastic pipes(4 inch size) fitted for the terrace Rain water outlets).
