Thanks Mahesh

Today I have bought sand @ 59,000/- big load - Harihar sand. Mestri and neighbours have opined it is of best quality.

Also given orders for red bricks (for sump) @ 8.50/- per brick.

Now I should start looking for steel vendors. Can some one suggest good brand with competitive price?

I think Prime Gold is both economical and good quality
All sizes expect 8mm rods are FE500

Buy it from Hosur factory directly, you will get it for less than 7-8k of market price per ton
Only thing is they sell 10tons in one go and buyer need to take care of transport. You can partner with other buyers to take care of this suitation
Also if you make payment through cash you get additional discount of Rs.400 per ton
Whole thing will take one day time but at the end of the day, money saved will be a lot.

I have not got anybody as co-buyers for Prime gold.

Have enquired locally about the rates and got the following quotes:

Kamadhenu - 46k/ton
VKP - 47k/ton
Prime Gold - 48k/ton
Indus - 50k/ton

My mestri and neighbours are advising to go for Indus. Can anybody help me what difference it makes between these brands?

I was just thinking to go for Kamadhenu if there is no difference in quality.

Hi,
I am a civil engineer and builder in construction field from the past 16 years.
After my consistent research with the quality of steel, for a residential building construction you need not go for INDUS or TATA steel until and unless your structural design is done by experts who have taken Fe500 in their design standards. Most of the structural consultants take steel strength as Fe 415, and as well there is a lot of factor of safety.
I have tested from CIVIL AID certified material testing agency the quality of these not so very popular steel brands and they are upto the IS Standards.
As a cost advantage
don't worry on steel strength and you may go to KAMADHENU or any other TMT bar manufacturers.
Inspite of this experience sharing if you want concrete evidence, then call up CIVIL AID, take samples and get it tested and verified for confirmation.
Don't invest your money just for brand name and advertising cost burden.
