Hello,

Need some information regarding Synder/Cinder filling.

1.) Approx what quantity of Synder/Cinder will be required for filling up an area of 8ft x 10ft and 3ft high (Volume - 8ft x 10ft x 3ft).
2.) Is it safe to fill above mentioned area with Synder/Cinder on the sinked roof top. I mean is it safe to put that much of weight on roof.

Your reply will help me a lot.

Regards,
Ankit Singh

From my experience, You might require around 3-4 tons of synder for filling in 3 ft.
I had got 2 tons of cynder and I got it filled for 1 feet (area was 14* 6). I used about 50-60% of the quantity and the rest is just lying wasted.

@ Alok, I guess 500 kgs of cynder should be sufficient. I think I might have purchased it around Rs.1700 (including transport charges).

I purchased Cinder from Huskur Gate. (Near Kaveri Amma temple).
Depending on the area where you are constructing your house, there could be people selling it somewhere close by.
