Plumbing

Hi

My construction will soon reach plumbing stage and I want to equip myself on how a plumber charges for labor. I heard its best to opt for a flat rate per bathroom rather than piece rate. Can someone kindly comment on this? Also if below are the fittings I have per bathroom than what would be an average labor charge?
1. Wall mounted EWC (not concealed)
2. Wall mount sink and wall mounted faucet
3. Concealed shower mixer
4. Provision for electrical geyser (just plumbing)

Also I heard the outside plumbing would be charged separately. Any idea on what rate I can expect for this outside plumbing.

Thanks in advance!

Plumber charges include both internal and external plumbing.
What you meant by "outside plumbing" probably is about road cutting and connections to the corporation sanitary lines.
In my case plumber charged per bathroom 8K.

I recently rennovated my bathroom..... i can say still another 25% is left. I am pretty happy with my plumber. Prompt down to earth and knowledgable guy.

Will keep this group posted. if the outcome is good he is worth a try.

Thanks for the response sholla.

By outside plumbing I mean plumbing to the Inspection Chamber, waterline from sump to overhead tank, plumbing of the solar water heater, etc.
Does the 8K include all work within the bathroom (like fitting EWC, etc.) or just laying the plumbing work? I ask since one plumber is quoting me 20K which is very high compared to what your plumber has charged.

@amit, how much did the plumber charge? I guess in your case it was only fittings since plumbing already existed.

I replaced all the pipes, each and every bit of my bathroom.

For 2 bathroom, complete plumbing charges he chaged me 17k this includes ashirwaad pipe ( plumber would bring the pipe ).

In all 17 k i had to shell out from my pocket and i got new pipes and he will fit me the new fittings. rennovation is cubersome
in comparsion to fitting new one @ times.

Thanks amit. That's a major renovation including changing of tiles!
8.5K including pipes seems like a good price.

Junk,

17 K is only for pluming for 2 bathrooms. which is inclusive of pipes. the plumber procured as part of 17k.

Breaking the tile/ relaying the tiles is not taken care by plumber. it is Tile fitter who does it. tile laying guy would charge on per square feet basis.
Tile breaking is challenging task relative to laying the tiles.

Plumbing charges are high... after lots of comparsion i finalised this guy.

Amit, yes I understand. I was just saying that re laying pipes means complete overhaul including tiles. BTW I too was planning to overhaul my current bathrooms in my apartment. But the nightmare of tile breaking is stopping me from doing it (esp. in an apt since my neighbors will have to deal with hell!). Did you consider laying over the existing tiles? I heard that is an option but I don't like it much. Also what rates did you pay for breaking the tiles and for laying new ones?

Start the tile breaking for both bathroom on same day. This means before they complain you are out of breaking.
breaking 10 rs psf is good bargain

Tiling - as the area woudl be small 15 to 20 rs psf are the charges. you might get people who can lay at lesser price
but skilled person might charge a bit premium.

For laying Tile on Tile Floor i am paying 15 rs psf. Not sure if this is high or low for 1000 sq feet house. I have seen
this guys work and insisted that i need this guy to lay it for me. So far going good.
