Roof Muddy

Hi All

My contractor says Roof Muddy can be laid in 2 ways, 1. Laying roof concrete giving the slope on onside and once cured put the cement only mixed with water (Grout) making the slope towards one side 2. Laying the roof concrete without giving slope on any side , put the concrete (cement+jelly+Sand) then plaster with grout making sloppy smooth finish for flow of water . This can cause 3 inches of thickness above the concrete which is highly durable.

He says 1st one is followed everywhere ,but 2 one can be done if you can spend some extra cost as it cost additional labor of 25Rs Sq.ft + material extra..

Please do suggest whether any use of going for 2 option.

Regards
Sam

He is trying to convince you. better go with 1st option and apply waterproofing coat ( like tra felt. which will reduce your room temperature and water proof.

Thanks. 1. How much water proofing cost?
2. Does we need to mix with cement(Grout) and plaster it for smooth finish? . Is this right?

Dont apply an Y THING ABOVE CONCRETE. WHILE POURING CONCRETE ADD WATER PROOFING COMPOUND Along WITH CONCRETE( YOU NEED TO BY ONLY MATERIALS PURCHASE VERY GOOD WATERPROFFING COMPOUND like FORSOC OR sika> AND MANY MORE brands AND COMPACT THE CONCRETE WITH MECHANICAL MEANS( hire a vibrator for one day). allow FOR CURING AND TEST YOUR SLAB FOR LEAKAGE AND GO FOPR WATER PROOFING. IT WILL COST YOU AROUND 50-60 /sFT. ( IF YOU NEED WATER PROOF AND WEATHER RESISTAnt. there are other materails refelection paint which will be good technical materails you can try.

Basically. Applying plaster over harder end surface is no use. It is short cut method in laying roof concrete. Once concetre is vibrated and finished with wooden float it will give dense concrete. As you will be giving contract. No one does as they dont have manpower to finsih in a singal day .
