Hi All

I am planning to do bore drilling, but all the near/side plot which drilled have drilled around 1000 feet to get even 1 Inch water, and some them even failed at 1200 ft/few stopped at 650 getting .75 inches but got dried. I got opinion that my plot will be also of similar way as rock beneath/flow of water will same in particular area . Because of this everybody is getting only at 1000 ft. Some of of opinion that it is because of geologist/water diviner who correctly. haven;t spotted and some saying there is no point of drilling as it cost high with no assurance that you will get water/rather go for buying. Some saying it is owners luck. off course i agree but any good inputs that can help which i am looking for.

Please share your experience/thoughts on this as which opinion is reliable or any precautionary measure we should do apart from luck of owner to increase the success rate of getting more that 1.5 inches of water.

Me too had sailed in the same boat few months back . Experts say that water which is available at 1000-1200 ft is not potable and there is a huge chance of that bore well getting dry at a faster pace compared to the ones where water was available at 500-600 feet .

I took a decision based on simple maths . To drill a bore well above 1000 feet will cost you Rs.2 lakhs and above and yet there is no guarantee that you get water regularly .You deposit that money what you have budgeted in an FD and the interest what you earn from that would suffice your water needs .I am depending on water tankers .My estimation for the water tankers was 30000/- till the completion of the project and i am hopeful of getting it completed with in that budget .

Fortunately now i am in a stage where cauvery water would be supplied in a matter of 15 days to my building.People get bogged down by questions from all and sundry when every one asks " Borewell haaksilva " .I give them the reply of this simple maths .

If you are in the stage of construction at the moment....not sure if BWSSB supplies cauvery water for construction purposes.

I am personally in the same boat. In the layout I am planning construct, water table is low. Only difference is, Cauvery water may not available at least for next several years.

In this case, the math has to consider ongoing cost of procuring water from tankers vs the probability of getting borewell water. Also if one does rain water harvesting that feeds back to the bore well, it may serve longer.

m3_07 : Yes ,Bwssb doesn't supply water to the buildings under construction .
