How to protect wood frames during construction

Hi,
I have wood frames ready for my house to be fixed. Cement plastering is about to start. Since, I am going to polish the wood, protecting the wood from residuals of cement and during curing has become a challenge for me. Please let me know how to protect so that the wood gives good finish after polishing. Some one suggested me powder coating the frames with the mixture of amber powder and fevicol. If this is done, can the painter remove the powder coating using the sand paper and will it give good finishing after polishing? Does powder coating means just painting the mixture on the frames?

Nothing will happen if the wood is teak.
Recently i had spray polished puja door fixed after that lot of cement work happened. After all that activity we used sealer, metal wool, fevicol, lappa and polish to get back the original.
thanks

Hi,
Never apply any kind of sprays with colors or any kind of material on teak.It will fill the grains in the wood and you will never be able to remove it .The best way is to buy a 3mm ply fix it to the frames from the wall side with nails.Once the complete cement work is done just remove the ply .You get very cheap masking ply used in interiors for fixing veneer or to protect veneer from dust.

Since my carpenter is not in bangalore, can the 3mm ply be fixed by the carpenter before the frames fixing? Or this can only be done after the door frames are fixed? For that my carpenter has to come down to bangalore. Also won't the water deposit between the ply and the frame when curing is done and the wood may get spoiled?

Hi Yogi,
It can be done by any carpenter locally, the masking ply can be done only after installation at site in the walls. The more dust accumulation will happen while the plastering ,wall cuts .first thing is to avoid pouring water on these frames ,normal water accumulation will dry regularly .
