Occupancy Certificate - when is this needed?

Hi,

I am closing in on my completion of my house construction. Another 1
month remains before I plan to move in. Wanted to know when should I
take the Occupancy Certificate from BBMP? Apart from the Occupancy
Certificate, is there any other certificate that I need to apply for?
Also what would be the likely amount I may have to spend for getting
these certificates which includes the usual (under the table) stuff.

Secondly, so far I had been paying site tax. I believe the house
property tax will have to be paid from now on. What will be the cost
involved?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

occupancy certificate is required only for multistoried houses, only
if it has more than three floors. otherwise not needed.no other
certificate needed.

reg tax you can visit the bbmp website for details. actual tax depends
upon the location and constructed area. i stay in basaveswaranagar and
built 1650 sq ft. tax is bt 5000. just to give you an idea.

all the best .

Get Completion Certificate, its a Legal Doc which is required to prove that u have built a house ( In eyes of Law), in case of any property dispute u need to have this kind of certificates, its better to have Occ and Completion Certificates.

Normally ppl are not aware of these certificates, hence they don't get the Certificate, but its better to have this kind of certificate to avoid unneccessary headache for your future generation for any unforseen situation like disputes on the built land or problem with Floor ration built.

Hope it helps,
