Compound Wall

Hello Forum,

I recently bought a corner site in Hennur and would like to do a fencing / wall based on the cost it would take.

For the wall:
==============
.) I would like to go for solid/hollow cement bricks for 5 ft height above ground
.) Rock work at the base (the soil is red-soil) to say 2 or 3 feet deep with 2 to 3 layers
.) No plastering, i am ok for the bricks to be uncovered.
.) Site area: 40 x 40 ft

For the fencing:
==============
.) Simple rock posts at 10 ft distances

Can experts here help me with some details and approaches; Mainly cost involed in both of these topics?

I understand that the labour cost would be on a RFT basis. Is there a height associated with the RFT in general or can it be any height of construction?

figures from another post (Cement Brick work = Rs 80/rft + Rock work = 100/rft => Rs.180/rft)

Also i would appreciate some cost data on the following

Cement Bags needed & cost of each
Sand needed & cost
Amount of Rocks needed and its cost
No.of cement bricks needed & cost

Slightly OT, but beware, I have heard from people that the fencing (barbed wires and stone pillars) on their sites are often stolen. I am not sure about Hennur but have heard of such thefts in Anjanapura and other layouts in Kanakapura road.

Folks,

I so far have checked with 2 contractors, their quote for a L-shaped compound wall (2 sides of a site only) blew my head.

Here is the spec:

Excavation for 81 running feets (RFT) to a depth of 2 feets
Rock + concrete work for 3 layers
Hollow brick work for 81 RFT and 4 feet high from ground
Material + Labour cost inclusive

One is asking for Rs. 67K and another is asking for Rs.85 K.

On top of all these, why do these contractors need to physically see the place of work to estimate and quote? I dont understand.

I find it hard to justify this price. Can someone enlighten me?

I have constructed a compound wall for my 40*60 site. It was a solid brick (cement concrete stone) wall of 4 ft with foundation using size stones(rock stones). 2 layer of 4" concrete above the wall and above the stone foundation. it costed 1.25 Lks

Hi all,

Could you somebody please tell me what will be approximate cost of constructing a compound wall for 50*30 site, with approximately 5 ft high and 3 ft below ground.
I want to build a house later and i want this compound to be permanent.

Thanks

How about using Pre cast slabs for compounds? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
