Hi Everyone,
I am getting stone cladding done for some portions of the exterior walls. I am planning to use Sira stone. The one person who was reccommended by my architect is not accepting any new work since he has been hospitalized. The other one I approached through one of my friends is quoting Rs.225 per square foot, which includes the cost of the stone, cutting it to the desired size (4 x 9 x 3) and fitting it on the wall. I have to supply him sand and cement. I thought the price is a bit high, I was expecting around Rs.150/sft or so. If you know of anybody who does this work, please share the contact numbers.

Regards,
Raman.

Hi Praveen,
Thanks for the information. I will double check with the stone worker about the price and what is included in the quoted price. Do you know any good stone workers that you can reccommend?

Regards,
Raman.

Hi All,
Just an update that I am getting the cladding done with H-Cross stone (chintamani) which looks just like Sira stone. (I was told that Sira stone is in shortage and would involve long wait). Anyway, this stone also looked good and I am getting it done for Rs.210 per sq ft. The stones will be 4 inch high, 3 inch deep and different lengths (6 inches, 12 inches and 20 inches).

Regards,
Raman.

Hi

How about going through the Cladding Tiles instead of stones ? Fixing of those tiles like normal wall tiles fixing ? Can you please let me know ? I have seen some good models in RAK.

Cladding with tiles will also look good and they look almost like real stone. However, they have the disadvantage that they are thin and break easily (rather easier than real stone), which needs to be relplaced.

my ctactor suggested to go for granite like sadarahli and other colours but im not very interested in it and looking for simple light colours llike rustic finish ....i have been to some shops and all of them have same thing ceramic stone finish tiles and for natural stones it occupies more space balcony is just 2.9 ft ...and found some vterified tiles matt finish which has got some decent colours

can we use vetrified tiles for wall cladding ?
wat r the other materials used for wall cladding ?

Have a couple of doubt - if some one can help on this

1) Which stone is good quality for wall cladding ( sira or sadarahalli ) - and what is the current cost for sqft for both
2) what is pointing and grouting

hello everybody,

Wanted to know if the laying of these natural stones on the exterior will be done by the same tiles people or this involves a different set of people. If so, what would be the laying cost per sqft.

Priya Balaji.
