Dear Members
If we have to go for Ghana Teak or Honne since they are in the same price range, what should be the preference and why. Your inputs will be appreciated. For Door Frames people have been going for Sal also, but I heard that when compared to Honne, it is more susceptible to pests/insects. What about Ghana Teak. Does it bend or susceptible to pest attack ?

Ghana Teak Price and Honne are both same but strength wise Honne is more better than ghana teak ,
ghana teak price for good texture and color price varies from 2200 to 2500 , where as honne is around 1900 to 2300 , rates are excluding of cutting planning and VAT .
Main Door : Honne : 5X4 Size :3.05cft/Unit: 3.5'X7'

Bedroom Door frame : Red Sal : 5X3 :1.82 Cft/Unit
Bedroom Shutter : Skin or Flush Doors : Rs 120 /Sft : 18 Sft one Standard bedroom Door
Window Frame : Red Sal :5X3: Quantity Depending on Design

As of my understanding, Honne and sal cannot be polished. Both need to be painted. Sal has fine cracks and Honne can leach out colour if wet. These problems are not anticipated with the engineered acasia wood.

Dear Mr Raghu,

Did you place the order for Acacia wood with Geetha Timbers. I did my research post looking your views on this page and visited Geetha timbers thrice(1factory visit, 2 with my requirement, 3 for pricing). Both the instance I could not meet Harish, however got the pricing for my windows from Gautham... I shall be visiting them this saturday to finalise my order....

Pl reply if he has given any better pricing than me... I have been quoted 260/- per rft for 120x60mm and 220/- for 100 x 60 mm.

i have recently got these and personally not happy. there have been cracks while fixing the mesh to the window frames.
may be if i had spent few lacs more, i would have been happy with 2nd teak or burma teak.
just sharing my experience.
