Hi,
For any walls, floor beam locations are important not the roof.Its a coordination to make beam location such that it's not seen in the roof and at the same time load transfered from top floor.
Your structural guy would have said to change the beam location in last floor so that beams are not seen across the rooms.no harm in changing the beam locations from floor to floor.columns are designed for the same.

I have seen other construction ,and there is bend in every columns. I asked and he told there is will be a 6 inch bended need to make the column straight between ground floor to first floor to second floor etc. Reason being if ground floor column , i am cutting the steel rods into 2 pieces into and tieing it together so next floor in order to align they need to bend the column .Is this bend you are talking about.

Rod (0 to 10 feet) ->Rod (7 to 17 feet) (tied) - Ground floor
(6inch)->(6 inch)

So now in the first floor i need to tie another rod to extend to second floor so do bend the Rod (7 to 17 feet) bit to align with Rod (0 to 10 feet by 6 inch ,and tie another rod . So bending is anyway will come but should be only by the thickness of the rod.

Is this right? . Is what we are talking about?

Hi Mahesh, Yes these happen becoz of old column boxes. Contractors get old boxes for lesser prices which results in these twists. This has happened to my house as well.

any rcc construction should be excuted by the qualified profession .otherwise it will not give the result of what the designer designed. So no shortcuts

@sam_m400

i think ur talking about laping column rods it has to be done like that but my probs that after each roof while placinbg the coumn box they slightly bend the bottom rods so that it goes inside the box as per the plan measurement and 2nd aftter pilar concret the pilar is twisted so it ssnt straight to wall

thanks keerthi

2day engineer visited the site n told me that these labourer hasnt done good job before placin starter they need to check the 90 degree angel using threads n required tools n after placing boxes now in lintel level it needs to be corrected and other problem was the outer wall is placed outside the column (1.5 inches) in my case box was new n same box used for all columns 6 boxes for 12 columns ..yes the box is also 1 of the reasons which he told me

im worried wther to continue with 2 more floors or just stop it here

n also need to warn contractor n if possible have to change him

Hi Mahesh,
Please share the picture of your column where there are deviations, so that it benefits all of us.

few updation after engineer visit

they made correction after lintel level
1 column they again twisted n made straight so that beam can be placed on wall
2nd column which was not straight to the corner column they again pulled n made is straight

i was insisting them to give proper covering while filling the concrete they manage for few columns which has 12mm rods n didnt even tocuh or gave covering for 20mm coz it is not possible for them to pull n give proper covering

engineer suggested that while marking or before placing starter they have to use that thread n see 90 degree angle n also they have to give proper covering while filling concrete two main probs and in some cases box will have a diff of 1/2 inches they just do assumin n it consumes more time for them so they dont use thread

hoping that in next floor they will not do mistakes n crank column rods
