BESCOM temporary connection monthly charges
Re: BESCOM temporary connection monthly charges
My electrician told me this: Now BESCOM has outsourced the temporary connection
billing to Infosys and apparently BESCOM is now very strict regarding the bill payment
within 28 days (or whatever the period one chooses). If you miss even by one day,
you will have once again apply and get the temporary connection. This means
you pay the deposit all over again.

that is a true fact - that if you miss your payment even by one day, you have to go through the entire process of obtaining the temporary connection. My electrician was very careful to check the meter every 28 days and pay it on time (even if I did not pay him immediately) and would forward the bill to me later.

Thanks Pradeep. I will check with nearest BESCOM center for more details.pradeepecr wrote: Hi giri,
For temp connection, You may need to have kind of watchman shed or small room constructed. Thats what my electrical contractor told me.

Another question:
The street lights facing my site are broken. If I need to get them repaired/replaced (at least one of them with Halogen lamp), is there any procedure?
Re: BESCOM temporary connection monthly charges
In one of my previous posts, I had mentioned that the cost of 2KVA temp connection has gone up.....IT HAS NOT !!....my mistake. It is still 1344.

Oh! That means my electrician is cheating me way more than I thought he wasm3_07 wrote:In one of my previous posts, I had mentioned that the cost of 2KVA temp connection has gone up.....IT HAS NOT !!....my mistake. It is still 1344.
Thanks for getting back with the correct amount m3_07.
Giri, there is no need to show plan approval. I only had to show khata or latest tax paid receipt to prove ownership of site. As stated by Pradeep, a shed is necessary since the meter needs to be placed somewhere safe.
Re: BESCOM temporary connection monthly charges
Thanks! So I will work on getting a shed done first and apply for temp connection. Any ide how long will it take for them to provide the connection once I apply?sansjunk wrote: Giri, there is no need to show plan approval. Re: BESCOM temporary connection monthly charges
My electrician said one day is enough. However he delayed in buying the meter and fixing the board. So in total it took me 2-3 days.
Re: BESCOM temporary connection monthly charges
I am being charged 3500 for two months by my contractor, for 2KVA single phase connection. So what is the correct amount now ? I am not sure how many units is mine as m3_07 says that above 160 units , its a different tariff. Can somebody help me to read the meter ? It shows too many things by pressing the button each time and not sure which is the units i it.
Re: BESCOM temporary connection monthly charges
Looks like your contractor and my electrician are charging us the same (mine 885 per KVA and yours 875 per KVA for 28 days). I think its 160 units for 28 days so for you it would be 160 x 2 = 320 units. Keep pressing the button till you see kwH - that would be no of units. @m3 I hope the amount you have mentioned is correct and latest?jackalbda wrote:I am being charged 3500 for two months by my contractor, for 2KVA single phase connection. Re: BESCOM temporary connection monthly charges
Hi,
going for 58 day will be waste of money at the end.Say you have finished you work on 4th day and go for permanent connection yet you need to pay minimum amount for 58 days.
Go go 3 phase if required at the temp connection time since the bescom will not replace your single phase meter with 3 phase later. You end up with one spare single phase meter.
