Re: overhead tank
for an overhead tank (sintex or other brands) placed on a RCC slab, what is the recommended clearance area required around circumference of the tank? In other words, if a tank is 4feet in diameter, what should be dimension (length and width) of the RCC slab?
Re: overhead tank
Long back we brought three 1000 liters syntax tanks from company itself through some employee reference. We paid 500 to him to take extra care of the tank and he use 3 to 4 kgs extra material to make the tanks more stronger. Now that company is shifted from bommasandra indl area to guj ..

Re: overhead tank
The clearance depends on where exactly the tank is located. If it is in the corner most of SW, then it is better to give clearance of 1'6"(min) on all the four side.
We should provide clearance for cleaning or to maintain the sensors of automatic water level controller. Again, if you have a neighbour's building up to your OHT level, then only two sides clearance is enough.
According to your doubt, if 4'0" is the dia of the tank, 7'0"X7'0" slab is required to have 1'6" clearance alround.

Re: overhead tank
Hi ,
Space around the tank is purely case to case. There is no rule for it.Like CHANDRASEKAR suggested if you need to go around for maintenance min 1'6" is required.
If you are really to the edge of the building its better to leave at-least 2' -2'6" gap all round so you feel safe while walking in that space.
