Cost of Temperory Electrical connection for Construction
Re: Cost of Temperory Electrical connection for Construction
Go for a 28 days renewal. The deposit in this case would be only 9.5 K and the total charges will be around 15-16K.

I paid around 7.5K for a temporary electrical connection in Chandapura area. (All inclusive of deposit, meter & connection charges) I went in for a 28 days renewal. I think I got a 1 KW connection. (not sure if it is 1 KW or 3KW).

Is it sufficient to have 1KV connection for bore well too?
Re: Cost of Temperory Electrical connection for Construction
You will need a minimum of 2KW for the borewell. A 3KWwill be better, reason - these days with digital meter, there is a "PD" factor that will be measured at the time of reading. The surge current of the pumps being higher, for a 2KW connection, it will go beyond 2 & you will end up paying penalty for the same.
Also, at the time of contruction, a 2KW will not suffice to run your flooring/ carpenter/ electrical equipments simultaneously.

What is this renewal funda? . If i go for 28 days ,means after than should i pay anything or just a renewal is what is needed just intimating the KEB?.
My contractor is charging 9000 Rs deposit ,all others including bribe and all 20K, is this normal? He also says for renewal after 28 days need to pay 2000 Rs after remitting the charges for the first round (2000 Rs 240 units + 8.50 Rs for extra). Is this right?

I feel 20k is a bit too much to pay for. Try to negotiate.
Re: Cost of Temperory Electrical connection for Construction
i negotiated but ready to reduce only 500 with 19500 as total.
This is break up
Deposit 9000
meter 4500
MCB+wire+Board 3500

Re: Cost of Temperory Electrical connection for Construction
So i went to KEB office directly and asked them about temp connection, they mentioned electrical contactor need to apply and not owner. this is because the contactor has to give something call CR certificate or file, i dont recall the exact name. I slowly enquired about the cost, they mentioned it will come around 7 to 9k depending on KW and renewl time
So i got electrical contractor details through my contractor he got the connection in 1 day.
This is the payment I made for 1KW and 56 day renewel
deposit - 5.8k
connection charge - 100
meter - 1200 (this has capacity to take 3KW)
unofficial - 2k
Board, switch and etc.,
2.5k
Let me know if you need this contractor contact, i will share it with you. Do mention your site location so that I can check if he works there too
