Hello Everyone,
What is the best cement option (OPC 43 Grade or PPC) to be used for Plastering work?
Any suggestions and recommendations on the best practice and things to be followed.

Both OPc43 and PPC have less heat of hydration thus less air cracks. However it is not 0 crack thing you still need to cure the plaster well.
PPC has flyash and is less affacted by chloride attacks and sulphate attacks thus better from that point of view.
Disadvantage of PPC : It has blackish colour
In case you are going for exposed brickwork or for stone cladding grouting go fot OPC43 because PPC colour gets absorbed in stone or bricks.
Similarly for laying granite /marble use OPC43 with sand in mortar mixture and preferably white cement as pasting slurry.

I have used PPC and 43 grade, here is my experience.
PPC needs curing for a week to 10 days. Generally, laborer's do not show much diligence for curing. If we cure it a bit less, it turns powdery.. some of the plastering hasn't come out well.. we also used it for maddi on the roof, and that hasn't come out well either..
43 grade gets most of its strength in about 3 to 5 days.. it is cheaper and better and more practical

Re: Best Cement for Plastering - OPC 43 Grade vs PPC
I used PPC extensively but never faced this problem of becoming powdery and yes curing was not much
Have used Dalmia PPC and ACC Suraksha and towards the end Priya cement in 5 -10 bag as buying in lots of 50 and 100 was not required
The stength of plaster is quite good.
Only problem I faced for leaching of colour in bricks where labourors used couple of bags of PPC instead of OPC.
