Has anyone considered installing a steam room/jacuzzi/whirlpool/Multifunction units in the bathroom for an independent house. If so can you please comment on the pros and cons of the units you have considered/used. Jaguar/Hindware/Lauret and Jaaz sell them. Unfortunately none of the dealers stock them, so one has to order them looking at the specs and catalogue. As these units are expensive, I would appreciate any feedback from the members.
Thanks,

Re: steam rooms, Jacuzzi, whirlpools, Multifunction units
Hi,
You can see Hydroform Jaquar whirlpools in working condition in their experience centre (somewhere near Hotel Harsha). Yellow pages should have the number. They do not sell anything here but display all Jaquar products and explain it well.
There is an oyster showroom near Jayanagar East end. Contacts at the end of this message. I saw a whirlpool and steam cabin in working condition there. I plan to buy a whirlpool from Kohler (Sunrise on Intermediate Ring Road between Koramangala and Old Airport road). Key factors I considered are :
1. Shape (corner is a good space saver)
2. Size (depends on personal preferance)
3. Material (almost all tubs I saw are acrylic ones)
4. Protection from any electric leakages. Sales guys will give the necessary gyan on this. I went for Kohler because I assumed this would be a very safe one. I also found Jaquar to be good value for money
5. Two types of features are present in whirlpool - water jets and air jets.
Some multi function units are displayed at Hemadri Ceramics (Hosur Road; Take service road at Bommanahalli towards Electronics City and you will find this on your left). There is one good but very expensive model - 2lakhs or so - a dry sauna wood unit attached to a regular steam+shower unit. The sauna stove is of Finland make but everything else is from China. For that matter, almost all of these big brands are made in China.

kns590,
Thanks for your message. I did go through a few showrooms in the last couple of weeks. I visited jaguar, oyster, Lauret and Peter Huff showrooms and Home Town. Hometown sells PeterHuff and their own brand IQIP. Almost all of them are imported, many from China and some from European countries. Most of the chinese models look alike with a small sticker from the trader (Oyster, Peter Huff, etc.). I am still yet to decide on the make and model to go.
