My house in Bangalore was built with a Mangalore tile roof that is now 3 years old. Experts have advised that Mangalore tiles are pretty robust and last forever unless broken by impact or my people walking on them so I have been quite happy with my choice. Recently I observed that nearly half the tiles (outer tiles, not underlay) have hairline surface cracks along their length. In a few cases these look quite deep though the tile is not broken - see picture. Does anyone with experience with Mangalore tiles have any advice to offer? If there is an architect or civil engineer who would like to offer himself/herself for a paid inspection I would welcome that.
Thanks!

Re: Cracks in Mangalore tiles
The advise I received by one experienced engineer was that these are surface cracks most likely caused by overfiring and that I need not worry about them.
