Hello All,
Planning to Buy Burma Teak wood for Main doors (2 Nos ).
Visited a Timber shop located near K R Puram. We requested for Cut pieces/planks, as our required quantity is less.
Timber guy suggested to go for New teak log, to get uniform color for door.
Because of less requirement and wastage, we insisted him for cut pieces only.
later Timber guy offered us cut pieces from new log with no extra charges (7k/ cft). We said OK & did advance payment.
Yesterday, i visited to check cut pieces from new log.. attached are pictures.. I was not happy with this. This type of joints & grains are normal? Please provide your comments on same.
I am not sure about next step..
Thanks & Regards,
Praveen Barad

Thanks pvn for quick feedback.
I am worried about too much of White patches/portions around.. I am not sure whether these can be covered in Normal Polishing.
My door design is simple two panel door, these white portions on the borders may not go off in b/w joints.
Also, couple pin holes & many small joints which may not look good.
in the first look, i thought it is african teak.
Experts to throw more light on this.
regards,
Praveen

I am told that white patches can be polished but for main and pooja door do not suggest any planks for white parts (as suggested by my carpenter).

Wood seems to be fine. Annual rings are a feature of teak wood, you should not worry about it.
