Dear All,
Kindly help me on this. Already start approaching a good structural engineer however I would like to get an opinion from the experts from this forum.
That would be a great help. As per the actual plan the east side of our house passage is not quite enough to use the tenants.
So We will be buying additionally 2 feet from my neighbour to extend the RCC roof slab for passage. As of now its 2.3 feet and further planing to extend 2 feet.
we will achieve 4.3 feet totally, that would be ideal to use the tenants.
I have enclosed the pictures for your reference. Kindly suggest what would be the best option to extend the RCC Roof slab.
Note: we had lintel and RCC roof with concealed beam
Thanks,
Karthik.S

Re: how to extend RCC roof slab
Hello Praveen/ Forum experts...shed some light on this would be a great help.
My structural engineer is telling we need to put four columns from the ground level to take the load. b'c now its 2.3 (adding 2 feet further) after horizontal extension it will become 4.3 feet.
one of my friend engineer cousin is telling, already four columns are there we can have |__| type extension to support and take the load. I have attached the actual ground floor plan with column details.
Kindly suggest.
Thanks
