Concrete Overhead tank leakage problem

Post by perumalsamy E »

Hi Everyone,
Newly constructed Overhead tank with a size of 4feet*4feet is in trouble. Leakage is at tank corner points. water comes out of the tank when we fill the tank. We constructed two tanks and on tank dimension is 4 feet lengthx4 widthx2.5 height and One tank capacity is 1000 litres. In one tank there is no leakage after we re-engineered. We cant understand why the leakage is at pipe positioned (shown in orange color) place where, 3 pipes coming outside and the gap between the two pipes are 4 inches. We did pakka plastering work during second time of re-engineering. After that also drop leakage comes out from the tank pipes.

tank bottom -concrete, above that chips has been placed and above that, plastering done.
tank Four sides- Bricks and plastering.

We do not know what to do, kindly suggest the theory of water pressure and pvc pipe - cement bondage.

Problem:
Tank corner side leakage, and pipe outlet side leakage

Hydro static pressure will be more bottom will be more if you try to stop leakage at particular position it will leak it other locations as it is masonary it will crack some other place better reduce the capacity of water and see the leakage even it is leakage go for rcc if your budget is constraints go with pvc tanks
