Borewell water

Post by sam_m400 »

My borewell received water at 287 feet and i dug till 480 feet. I am receiving water at 1.5 inch for 40 minutes then force suddenly come to .5 inch to very thing quantity after few minutes may be around 50 minutes filling around 4000 litres plus in sump. After giving a break of 2 hours again i will again get around 1. 5inch then it drop s to .5 inch, is this common in all the borewell or my borewell water is not sufficiently percolating from the rock or should have dug more deep so that storage may increase.

You have not mentioned, what is the length of the pipe inserted inside the Borewell.
Even though you have dug up to 480 feet, if the length of the pipe inserted is only for
say 150 ft, then also you might experience this kind of inconsistent water availability issue.

If you are experiencing this problem now itself, it becomes more severe or you may not get
water at all in the summer as the water level goes down in dry seasons.

One of the simple option is to increase the length of the pipe so that you can extract more water in a stretch.

i have put pipe till 460 feet. I am getting 1 to 1.5 inch water for around 30 min then it drips filling around 4000 liters then after one hours getting same 3000 to 4000 litres of water. So need to stop in between as water drips below .5 inch around 30minutes .I was in summer in the same house that time it was same .So to fill 12000 liters of sump i need to break 3 times the borewell as water drips after filling around 4000 liters. This is common across all bore well.

Either you need to drill further to accumulate more water or mostly this is the only way to be managed.
Not sure, whether this is happening across all season or only in summer ?? if its only seasonal, once good
amount of rain showers and water percolates into the water bed, situation will improve. Also implementing
the RWH effectively can improve the water level..
