We were in the process of house construction and having temporary electrical connection so far. We just installed the solar unit and gave all the papers to our contractor to make it permanent. Unfortunately he has absconded and our papers are stuck with him . Is there a way to get the permanent electrical connection done? We have paid all the charges etc. Can someone please point us to good officials or contractor s who can help us.
Thanks
Permanent electrical connection
Re: Permanent electrical connection
Usually where you pay your temp connection bill, that office will be like main office for rest of the local keb offices (i do not recall the technical name for this office - may be regional office). This is where AE will be seated. Near to this office you will have xerox shops who double as electricL contractor and they can help you get temp connection. Or if you visit this office, you can talk to electric contractor who are regular visitors there. It will cost you approx 20 to 25k.
Or you can get it done yourself but will involve lot of visits to this office and your local keb office. This will save you approx 10k.
Procedure is, there is a standard file for perm connection. Get it from xerox shop or any electric contractor, fill-in the details. Get contractor seal and sign. Attach your property document to prove you own this property. Then building plan approved copy, if there is deviation or additional house (rent house) which require one more connection and meter get your engg or architect to give you exact drawing of changed plan and attach. Now take it to local keb office and to be signed by JE. Now take it to main office and handover to prem connection dept. they will create account in computer for each connection you take. This will cost you 50rs. After this they will collect deposit for connection. For e.g. For my 1kv and 6kv connection it was was around 10k. Once this is done you will have to take your file back to local keb and submit there, at this point you will also have to give receipt of solar purchase. Now they will give you letter to purchase electric meter, you need to buy it from shop it will cost around 2250. Once this is done inform local keb office and they will come and complete the connection from electric pole. At this point your electric guy should have completed the rest of the work like road cutting and ug cable. After couple of days you will get prem connection number from local keb. You can give details of temp connection and deposit will be credited to your prem connection.
