Hello ,
I had also enquired regarding the same a few months ago. However there are a few points which you might want to consider.
1. For the grid connected variant, Power pact agreements are not being signed by Govt for domestic scale.
2. In long term it offers a huge savings and in fact profits if connected via Grid ( 7 Rs/Unit export yields -> 7 Rs* 8Hrs *300 Days = 16k /annum ). So your ROI will be 10 years for 1KW @1.6 L. This is not considering your monthly usage which needs to be added.
3. An off Grid system with a battery backup is the alternative where you have to add the cost of Batteries and maintaining them for a long time.
4. Having said that, i feel it is better to go with a solar system any day which will contribute to sustainable future.

I have spoken to one of my friends who is a Solar Power Entrepreneur. He said, Solar Power can be used for all the light-weight power points like Lights, Fan, TV, PC etc. For heavy duty machines like A/C, Washing M/C etc which consumes 15V it is better to stick with regular KEB power. This kind of solar set up for a single family would cost about 1 Lakh as per him.

Just checked with BORG sales, here is the pricing in bangalore

- 500W system :79,000
-1000W(1KW):160000
-1.5kw(1.5KW):237000

the warranty for PCU is for two year, this will be the major cost Item, AMC cost about 10% of Item which almost 15K/year.

The above prices is excluding the battery, so you need to add more for backup.
I checked with local solar ArrayTechsolar, they mentioned they can 1KW system at 1.3L (this is not system where this will feed to grid),

I too had enquired about BORG a few weeks back being an environment friendly citizen and felt it's nothing more than a "solar inverter".
If cost and space permits a whole grid can be set up and electricity sold inturn, but for a aam aadmi running basic electricals daily a 15-20K inverter/battery would suffice I guess.

yeah.. for 1KW it very expensive and that too without Batteries, with Batteries it will cost 2,00,000. and they plan 50000 sales in year. not sure how they plan to achive. i really wanted to go for it but seeing the Amount of money required it is a Niche product.

Well, Raghu you do go for Niche products, don't you :-)

Borg is definitely not a VFM option, though.

I liked the Product, but with battery a startup kit is almost 2Lack, and AMC etc rather we can spend money on energy saving devices

@Civil88 :), most of the time I like the niche products, but felt dissolution when they turn out to be too expensive

I talked to Emerson who is also having the solar inverter of some repute.. One of the system integrator quotes much less price compared to BORG.
