Water leaking from newly laid roof! What to do?

Hi experts,
I'm adding a single room on the second floor of our present house and 1 week back roofing was done using Zuari 43 grade cement mortar mixed at the site only. My mestri said that using Zuari cement the curing time takes long and it is the best method. They have made paati on the roof for storing water on the next day after roof was done. Now, i see that there is continuous leaking of water around the middle of the concrete roof. I showed this to my mestri and he said that he shall rectify it by chopping roof little bit on interior and also exterior and apply some paste. I'm little disappointed that the roof is leaking.

Any other ideas on what to do?

Ask him to do one round of 'Maddi' - add water proof liquid to Maddi
