today I got a quote from my granite laying fellow is asking Rs. 5/sq.ft as labour, for putting POP on granite, removing and acid wash, ..also he is charging Rs.28 for granite laying..whether it is reasonable?..

Buy POP from hardware shop, get a laborer to mix it with water in a large bucket. To half bucket of water, pop should be poured,mix it well so that it becomes think slurry, then lay newspaper on tiles or granite and pour POP.
Cost of POP is around 150 to 160 per bag of 20kg, buy good quality one. The good quality POP will set in 30mins, will not move or come out, when mixing you will feel coolness in your hand as it observes heat, will be pure white. There are lot of duplicate ones which are just chalk powder. If you are not sure of the quality just buy one bag from the vendor and test it out.
Removing is also very easy, just lift the newspaper from one corner and POP will come with it.
You will get the job done cheaply.
