I am planning not to give full contact to railing manufacturer(iron welder) instead i will supply raw material (MS steel) to the welder and ask him to weld at site itself, in this way i can make sure he's not manipulating on steel gauge and also save some money.
welder is charging at Rs.40 psf (including welding machine)
Please let me know if the cost is reasonable and any know issues or problems that can occur if we ask welder to design railing at site itself.

My neighbour went for MS rail for 155 Rs / Per sq.ft. Again it depend upon the design & Gauge of pipe/tubes.

I got a quote of 120 rs per sqft - the design is simple one - 16 Guage. ( MS railing)
2 inch round pipe - on top
4 bright rods - 12mm placed horizontally. (5 inch internal gap)
1.5 inch square pipe place vertically for every 5 feet.(bright rod pierces through the square pipes)
Is this a reasonable quote - please suggest.
Is sqft the standard of costing in blr ? , has anyone got in terms of Kg or lumpsum.

Also how can I verify the gauge of the piple - is 16 or 18 ?
