Contractor and Cost of Construction

Hi,

I'm planning to construct / modify my existing home which has (G+1) the terrace carpet area is 1500 sq ft,now i would need to build on 2nd floor, building is 10 yr old which has no pillars, it's a brick structure construction with strong foundation and suitable for constructing another floor.

Can someone suggest a good contractor (full contract), the house is located in Devaiah Park (near malleshwaram) and what would be the cost for construction (per sqft i.e., 2nd floor)

The cost will depend on the quality of building materials used. It can vary from Rs. 1500 to 1700 per sqft. Something below that will be not give you a decent finish.

Does your plan have the 2nd floor approved? Also, since the ground floor has load bearing walls you will have to see if the foundation can take the load of an additional floor. However, you can build pillars to strengthen the structure but your cost will go up.
