Sadarhalli stone slits

Dear members,

We wanted to use stone slits/pillars for a covered balcony. The size of each stone piece is 6ft x 6inches x 3inches. We were planning to do this with Sadarhalli stone with 2-line dressing. The rate I am being told is Rs. 4000/- per piece. As I would need nearly 20-25 pieces, it is working out to be quite an expensive proposition.

I am wondering if stone is really so expensive or is this stone worker quoting unnecessarily high rates. If you have any information on this, kindly let me know. Also, I was wondering if we can use MS instead of stone. Please let me know if you have an idea of the cost with MS.
