What is Vastu line ?
Diagonal lines drawen across the site is Vastu line, Vastu line should not be disturbed by Sump placement. My Site is South Facing site.
i wanted to Place the Sump at NE corner but there are 2 pillars one at North Side and one at East side after placing the pillars i am left with only 4 x 4 size which is given for sump, given the water shortage every one is advising to go for bigger sump but i cant do that unless crossing the Vastu line at North East Corner Do any one have a idea to over come the situation. Structual engineer says that he cant move any pillars then the stability is a questionable one.
I have few questions
1. Can we build Sump in a Triangle shape ?
2. Can we build Sump crossing the Vastu line ?
Note: i dont want to increase the depth of the sump by not more than 9ft.
Please share your ideas to solve my problem.

Re: Regarding Sump crossing Vastu Line.
hi
even i faced the same problem either i should compromise on size of sump which is difficult choice or i should go for available size wher we shouldnt not disrupt the footing column ...so we decided to go for available size n it crossed the vastu line by 4feet.
even im very curious to know wther we can cross the vastu line n wat r its impact ?

Re: Regarding Sump crossing Vastu Line.
I wasn't aware of vastu line, where to know about vastu line? are there any books.
One easier solution would be to have one more sump on the north side, when noth-east overflows the water should go to noth side sump
