Plastering size

Post by nagsbhat »

Hi,
I heard quality of brick laying directly decides the size of the plaster for wall. What is the least and max size for a best/poor quality brick laying? Say the brick is SMB brand with 9x4x3 inch size for a cost of Rs 6.5/- per brick.

Cheers,
Nag

Hi Nag
There is not standard for quality violation of brick work (workmanship).Make sure the wall is built to the plumb line perfectly ,mason keep checking it while construction the wall to make sure its straight vertically.Beams and columns casting is also important. If some where ).5" projection happens in the entire 2 floor structure ,you need to increase the plastering thickness by .5" for the entire wall and it costs you high.
The reason to break the wall lines in elevation is recommended to avoid these issues. With the workmanship quality you need to work out some better solutions.
