Is it possible to get encumbrance certificate online for a plot (in a BDA approved layout) in Bangalore? If so, what is the link for applying online? How much time it takes to get the same?
On the other hand, if we approach the Sub-Registrar Office in person with all required details, how much time they take to issue the encumbrance certificate for a plot?
Thank you very much for your kind help in advance.

Not sure about Online, however you can visit sub registrar office and get EC as below
1 to 3 years EC - 3 working days
3 to 7 years EC - 7 Working days
7 to 10 Years EC - 15 Working days
Above 10 years EC - 1 month
You need to fill form 15 with all details as per your sale deed (address, khata no, other property details around your plot)
hope this helps

Suri123, above details are official. If you pay Rs.100/- or 200/- as bribe to clerk in Sub-Registrar office you get the EC within few minutes/hours.. You get EC's from 2004 to till date quickly as its all computerized. Prior to 2004, you need to get in touch with previous sub-registrar office where the Plot is attached earlier.
Unfortunately, this process is not Online...
