Hi,
I heard from an advocate that e-katha has been made mandatory for any new registrations for BIAPPA and BMRDA sites. This seems to be some order passed in Apr-2013.
Can someone throw some light on this please?
Thanks in advance.

Yes. As per the new rule, Electronic Khata is a must for Registration. The procedure is very simple. We have to submit the following to the Panchayat office where we pay our tax:
1. Copy of the registered deed
2. BIAAPA approved layout copy
3. BIAAPA approved plan
4. BIAAPA release deed
5. DC Conversion copy
6. Photograph of the site
7. Photograph of the site owner.
Will take 10days to 45 days to get this ekatha extract.
The prescribed fee for this is Rs.200/-. But as usual there are bribe involved in all govt transactions.
As of now, ekatha is not available for non biaapa approved sites hence no registration.
