BDA layouts - Property tax for year 2016 - 2017 hiked many times over

BDA has hiked the property tax by 660 % (6.6 times) for sites in BSK 6 stage


My site is in BSK 6 stage.
I received the property tax demand notice from BDA couple of days ago.
The property tax for 2016 2017 has increased 6.6 times.
Tried to call BDA Revenue office in Banashankari BDA complex for clarifications, but it is always busy.

I would like to know if any one else has received the property tax notice for 2016-2017 with a similar hike.

I have a 60X40 site in JP nagar , 9th phase 2nd block , to day I got Tax Challan from BDA.

It is 10,882/- , last year it was 1,300 or so. ALmost 10 times increase and 900% increase. Not sure how BDA is going to justify such steep hike.
