Appeal to CHIEF MINISTER OF KARNATAKA SRI BASAVARAJ BOMMAI TO CANCEL OR ABOLISH PROPERTY MAINTENANCE FEE FOR BDA SITES

Bangalore Development Authority which comes under Chief Minister of Govt of Karnataka started adding maintenance charges to their property tax dues from 2021-2022 for the first time in the history of Bangalore or BDA!!
We are already paying property tax every year and on top of it we would have paid registration fee, stamp duty, development fee etc??

But, no one knows now why we have to pay the maintenance fees?? What for ?? Why only from this year?? Why not in other areas?? Why not for b khatha ?? Or unauthorised layouts?? What’s the plan for the existing layout which are already developed??

And what for the property tax we are paying for? Let's say we are paying property tax of 2046/- and cess of 491/- = 2537/- in total as property tax for BDA site measuring 30x40 and 2400/ as an property maintenance charges?? Why are we paying property tax ?? Is it to provide the basic facilities like road, street lights??
Maintainace charges comes for special amenities provided like swimming pool, well maintained parks, gardening area, sports complex for those who want to avail it? Why it’s been charged to all??
It’s an appeal to Common Man’s CM - to cancel or abolish the property maintenance tax or fees and property maintenance fee levied so far should be re-funded as it’s a burden to common people and as it’s not scientifically derived and it’s not present / available in any other states.
Hence, can you please abolish BDA’s property maintenance tax ASAP

since the start of Pandemic, Govt has lack of funds for running the Govt. These are indirect ways to mobilise the Fund. alternate options are to construct the house in your plot or dispose it off.

When I tried to pay this year's tax online - I see that there is an entry in the bill for maintenance fee, but this is not charged. Only the "property Tax part is charged. So, the tax rates are back to 2020 rates.
