Would anyone have any information if we can install Solar panels in apartments? Is this feasible given that we might not have access to terrace and balconies might be the only source of capturing sunlight.
Have anyone done this or know of the resources which can help us get more info about the same?
How many panels might be required? Are they sold on per square feet basis?
Space? Cost of compressor and inverter? Installation ?
Can we put panels in different balconies and converge the accumulated power?
Kindly let me know of whatever information you've.
Regards,
Sid

Re: Solar enabling apartments
Hi sid
The best location in general recommended will be terrace, given that no access , balcony top can also be used subject to the location and orientation.
If you have a south facing balcony with no obstructions for sunlight during day time, then its very much feasible. In case you have access to terrace there is no limitation for the distance between panel and batteries and only the wire gauge needs to be higher. There are various solar lighting systems ranging from 15k to 60k.Depending up to your power requirement the cost varies.
You can talk to Mr.Vipul (9845545638), you can refer my name Ar.Praveen.In case you haven't get any response from him ,let me know .
They visit your place and give you the various options and feasibility report. They deal with complete solar solutions.

Re: Solar enabling apartments
The best orientation for a solar PV panel is West. When your panel faces West, it then captures the highest solar gain.
All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on....
Re: Solar enabling apartments
Hi parkom
Though west facing gets higher intensified solar exposure, south facing will have max time of exposure...since the sun path is always from east to west oriented to south. So in the south facing right from morning to evening you will have constant exposure.
