I am pretty new to this forum. I am a NRI and thinking to settle in Bangalore, while my business still continues abroad. I dont know much about the real estate scenario of Bangalore.
I always wanted to buy some 2 - 10 or more acres of land in the outskirts and build a house (for permanent stay, not for weekends). I dont mind travelling 50-70 kms to the city. I am looking in the range of 20-50L per acre. Please suggest which area should I look in to, which could be a decent location after 5 or 10 years?

hi Teja
I'm not discouraging you. But my personal feeling is your budget is well below the current market rate. Mysore road, Bellary Road and Hosur road prices are too high for XYZ ridiculous reasons. Meanwhile you can try in Magadi road and Bannerghatta road areas or even around Tumkur.

HI Teja,
To get land in your budget either you need to enter in to hosur on electronic city side, cross bannerghatta village on bannerghatta side. Recently we were checking for lands in acres to construct homes for our own (a group of 8),we realized that land in acres is cheaper only if you are ready to travel 25 km from the city boarder (not from city center) We looked at couple of lands towards electronic city ,sarjapur now looking towards devanahalli , i would recommend to stay on devanahalli side, since the city limit is already at distance of 40 km(airport) from the city center. So if you go another 10 or 25 km you should get lands in interior of hardly 1 to 1/2 km from NH at your budget. Since the NH is 6 lane your travel time will be much lesser when compared to other sides of the city.
The other issue in Bangalore is that NRI cannot buy agricultural land without Indian farmer certificate.
This can be easily made for Indian residents but not for NRIs.

Hi Praveen
It would be great if you can summarize the land rates/acre in and around bangalore wrt to BLR south/East/North/Sarjapur Road etc.
That would be helpful to know the rates of the new layouts and the greedy of the developers.
