EC & Khata Extract.

I am asked to get EC for 15 year and Khata extract.

Where can i get this? The site i am buying is near Meenakshi temple B.G road. How much would it cost me? Also the time it would take if i try doing it on my own.

Is it worth to take brokers help? Any idea how much i need to pay them?

Khata extract, do i need to ask for 15 years khata extract, similar to EC?

AFAIK, u will get Khatha extract ( I believe this is a copy of the page of revenue department's register book where the owner details are mentioned ) only if the revenue department is BBMP and not even BDA. Again ur seller needs to provide that . This is what I was told and you may want to clarify.

For EC, you need to get it from sub-registrar office. Generally people get it thru the RE agent. But you yourself can do it. It would be costing just about 250-300 rs only.

Hi amit,

you can get EC from sub-registrar office. you have to run around 2 or more sub-registrars office. check with nearest sub-registrar.

since last 2 years, the number of sub-registrar offices are more and in these offices, you get only latest(mostly last 5 years) EC. if you want previous one then you need to go to old sub-registrar office. your nearest sub-registrar staff will direct you where to get for said period. if you have time at your disposal , you can finish the bribe thing in few hundreds.

regarding khata extract, you can get only for the site from the day site was formed. if the said site is existing from 25 years, ok otherwise you can get for last few years khatha extracts if your owner has or you have to get duplicate from the authority who issued it. check where it comes and who issued and goto that office and enquire for how many years you can get.

and that it will be given on site owners name, ask your owner to provide it. here too bribe will be depending on number of years they can provide. bargain. negotiate.

if you are going thru agent, he will ask in thousands.

after all these , keep in mind that you have to pay for akrama-sakrama in future.
