Hi,

Last week we had some power issues and as a result got some of the electical equiments at home damaged (luckily they were under warranty). We do have MCB at home. However the electrician says that we need to install ELCB. Do you think that is necessary? if Yes, just wanted to know whether we need elcb per phase (we have 3 phase), what are the appropriximate costs etc...

Rgds,
Kalidas

For your information, if its is really due to the Power surge from the transmission, KPTCL has the provision where you can claim damages from KPTCL to certain extent.

thanks msn. I didnt know that... but, as i was lucky, my items were covered under warranty. So in future just want to be safe. Also, more than compensation, it is the safety of people too...
