Hi,
I have paid excess stamp duty while registering the property.
I had initially paid 1 % of the sale agreement value through franking of the sale agreement. My banker had paid this amount (through DD) in Indira nagar Sub registrar office. He had informed that this amount can be adjusted while making the registration. Since our property is under Banashankari Sub-registrar office, they did not accept the fees paid above since it was paid in different office. So had to shell out 1 % extra stamp duty.
Is there any option to get the extra fees refunded?
Any help in this regard will be helpfull.
Thanks,
Jay

Dont get into hazzles of trying to save 1%. You may end of spending more in terms of both time and money.
For adjustment to happen both registering and franking should happen in same place. this is what i was told.
